Roger Jensen

Hes played with the Lyle Schafer Dance Band since March 1995 and Cross-town
Classic Rock Band since March 2003. Roger is a long-time Kennelly Keys Music instructor

Beginning to advanced students accepted. Lessons focus on each student's level
and goals. Lessons cover Note Reading, Traditional/Modern Theory, Improvisation,
Tablature, Jazz Band Charts, Technique. Jeff has extensive and contined study
of Composition as well as authentic knowlege of styles including Flamenco, R&B, Funk, Punk, Jazz, Shred, Traditional Classical, Travis Picking, Pop, Country,
Blues etc. Jeff's has composing credits for ABC, Fox, Toyota, Rossignol, Tricia
Sawyer Beauty & Nascar. Jeff has studied with Ted Greene, Ron Eschete, Scott
Henderson, Frank Gambale, George Van Eps, Richard Glenn (UCI) and continued study
of Flamenco with Marcos Carmona, Jesus Alvarez and Antonio Rey.

Maxwell (Electric and Upright Bass)
Lynnwood, Everett - BA in music from
Humbolt State University with over 25 years private teaching. William began his
musical studies at the age of six and began teaching and playing gigs at the age
of 15. Since then hes had extensive experience with live performance, touring,
studio work, and instruction. He has performed with orchestras, jazz ensembles,
rock, blues, funk, metal, pop, and country outfits. Several of his symphonic pieces
have been featured in films and he has been praised by several publications including
The Northcoast Journal, which called William, A bass wizard. He also
works as a sound engineer with over 150 album credits to his name. His teaching
experience has included a wide range of students, from complete beginners to college
level players..
Henry Lamkin
(Guitar) Northgate,
Woodinville, Bellevue - Received BA from Florida State University.
Teaching for over 15 years and a professional player for 12. He specializes in
classical, blues, rock, and jazz guitar. Henry has been playing with his jazz
band, The Tempos, for 10 years. He accepts all ages and levels of capability.
Tim Sherman
(Guitar) Woodinville, Northgate
- Teaching 17 years. Tim performs around the Northwest with the Tim Sherman Band
and the John Hodgkin Band and has played with jazz ensembles for Seattle Performing
Arts. He has been awarded best Blues guitarist twice by the Washington Blues Society.
Tim has 2 CDs out and is featured on a track found on The Best of Seattle Blues
compilation.

Nse’ Ekpo (Clarinet & Saxophone) Woodinville, Tukwila -Nse (En-say) Ekpo, hails from Sumter, South Carolina and is currently band teacher at Bellevue Christian School. Mr. Ekpo received his bachelors and masters degree from the University of South Carolina in Music Education (with a clarinet certificate), and Orchestral conducting respectively. Ekpo is also working towards a doctorate in conducting at the University of Washington. Ekpo has taught music from elementary level through college and loves working with students of all ages.
Neil Stafford
(Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute) Lynnwood, Everett, Bellevue
- 20 years experience in private instruction. Neil attended the City
of Leeds, College of Music in England and graduated with a performance degree
in Jazz and Light music on saxophone, flute, and clarinet. In addition he studied
with Jimmy Witherspoon, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Jiggs Wiggam, and John Barry. As
a professional, Neil has performed on cruise ships out of Miami and toured Europe
with pop bands including stints with The Coasters, Platters, Drifters, Fleetwoods,
Jack Jones and Vic Damone. He currently performs with local band Groovemob and
several other big band groups around the Northwest. A Kennelly Keys Music employee
since 1989, Neil is currently Director of Operations.
Craig Lawrence (Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute)
Lynnwood - Teaching publicly and privately
for 26 years, Craig received his Music degree from Western Washington University.
He has worked as a clinician at several music workshops around the Pacific Northwest,
including the Mountlake Terrace Jazz Symposium for the last 11 years. He has also
served as an adjudicator at many local and state solo contests over the years.
In his 28 years of professional performing experience he has played and recorded
with jazz, rock, and classical groups. Craig accepts all ages and skill levels.
Klaus Liebetanz (Flute Specialist)
Lynnwood - Teaching students privately for
25 years with a MM Doctoral work in flute. Klaus works as the instructor of flute
at Music Works Northwest and Shoreline Community College. He has taught at community
MWNW schools throughout Europe and the US and such colleges as the University
of British Columbia and the University of Honolulu. He has toured the Pacific
Northwest and US with Duo Cantico and has performed and recorded as the principal
flutist for the Seattle Creative Orchestra. Klaus has also done recording with
Erocia Classical Recordings and Albany Records.
Nathaniel P. Schleimer (Saxophone,
Clarinet, Flute) Northgate - 15
years teaching and clinic experience. 25 years performance experience as
ensemble leader and sideman in concert club, recording, musical theatre, and public,
private and corporate performance situations. Associate of Arts degree in music
at Pasadena City College. CD credits on Long John Olivas Cubarico,
Bobby Medina and the Red Hot Band Blazin, Papa Nata Live at Nichelbys.
Worked with performers such as Rosemary Clooney, Charo, the Spinners, the Coasters,
Buddy Greco, and many others.
Mike West
(Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet) Northgate -
Mike has taught privately throughout the greater Seattle area for the last 15
years. He attended Central Washington University (1981-1986) where he was featured
as a soloist in many of John Mowad's top bands. Mike has studied under the tutelage
of John Jessen, Billy Pierce, Bert Wilson, and Raymond Wheeler. Professionally
he has performed with Steve Miller, Brian Nova, Jazz Police, Red Fish Blue Fish,
and many more. He currently works as a freelance musician in the Seattle area
and is in top demand as a saxophonist and arranger.
Steve Treseler (Saxophone
& Clarinet) Lynnwood - 8 years
Teaching Experience. Degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the New England
Conservatory, Music Education courses at NEC: Models of Teaching & Learning,
Pedagogy of a Private Lesson. Steve also teaches lessons and workshops in many

David George (Trumpet, Flugelhorn) Lynnwood - Received a BM in music performance from Cornish College of the Arts. He has been teaching privately for over 20 years and is currently an active, professional musician performing in big bands, jazz combos and salsa groups throughout Europe, Asia and the U.S.. David is currently on the teaching staff at Roberts Music Institute in Bellevue and an adjunct faculty member at North Seattle C. College.

a BA in music education from the University of Washington. He has been teaching
privately for over 10 years and is currently an active, professional musician.
He has played and performed with several different bands, including a Latin ensemble,
Mango Son, a Cuban group, Supersones, and his own Jazz Quartet.

at UOP Conservatory of Music. As part of his freelance work, Stephen performs

Music Education at Central Washington University, where he studied with Richard
Jensen and Larry Godkin. Terry served as the band instructor at Marysville Junior
High School for 17 years. Professionally, he has performed with ensembles that
have backed up Sonny Fortune, Mark Murphy, Ernestine Anderson, Loise Rose, Joe
Williams, Don Lanphere, and Tony Bennet. He has recorded with Tim Noah, Muzak,
and Darren Motamedy. He has performed with the Everett Symphony as a member and

and skill levels for the past 30 years. In his professional career, Stan has preformed
with Cascade Brass, Cathedral Brass of St. James, The 5th Ave Theatre, and Paramount
Theatre Orchestras. Hes also served as an extra with Pacific NW Ballet Orchestra.

experience teaching. Emily teaches using the Suzuki method and emphases sight-reading
skills. She was a member of the Womens University in Seoul, Korea. She played
violin with the Cascade San Francisco Symphony for 4 years, serving as assistant
principal violinist. The San Francisco Youth Orchestra employed her as the music
librarian from 2001-2004. Her job included preparing scores, answering questions
from fellow musicians, preparation of library materials for international tours
and many other tasks. She has worked under the direction of Alasdair Neale and
Edwin Outwater and has toured and preformed extensively throughout Europe.
Michael Marcus ( Cello, Bass, Piano ) Lynnwood - 20 + years teaching experience. Michael graduated with academic honors from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He has traveled to over 20 countries as a student, teacher and performing musician in Classical, Jazz and World Music groups. received her music degree at the Ewha Symphony and is happy to take student of

experience. Jenny earned a BM from the Cincinnati Conservatory. She performs as
a member of the Bellevue and Federal Way Symphonies and is part of the University
of Washington String Project. She also performs professionally at events such
as weddings and parties.
Jennifer Schillen (Violin,
Viola) Lynnwood - 14 years experience
in private and public instruction. Jennifer has served as a high school band director
in the Edmonds School District for the past 9 years. The 3 years prior, she taught
music in the Spokane School District and gave lessons out of her own private studio.
She is currently a member of the Cascade Symphony.
Carol Read (Cello)
Lynnwood - Carol has 25 year's of teaching experience
in the Portland, Spokane, and Seattle areas. Carol attended Oregon State College
and the University of Washington where she majored in cello performance and attained
K-12 teaching credentials. She took up the cello in the fifth grade and played
as a member of the Junior Symphony in Seattle and served as both alternating first
chair and soloist of Youth Symphony in Seattle. She received a summer grant for
a Teachers Performance Institute at Oberlin College where she was first cellist
in a 90-member orchestra, as well as cellist for the top chamber group. Carol
has performed with several chamber music groups and the Spokane, Bellevue, and
Cascade Symphonies.
Janice Lee
(Cello, Piano) Lynnwood, Tukwila - Ching-Jung Lee (Janice) has been the associate principle cellist of the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra since 2006. She is an active cellist playing with local opera companies and orchestras in the greater Seattle area. She holds a Master's Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Washington, having studied with Toby Saks. Janice enjoys teaching and helping students discover the joys of music!
Todd Kovell (Cello)
Woodinville, Bellevue - Todd has been teaching
electric bass and cello at Kennelly Keys Music for over 10 years. Todd is equally
grounded in classical and pop music. He began playing cello at the age of 7 and
has played in numerous classical music ensembles. He also has a lengthy rock,
blues, and jazz band resume which includes bands that have toured and recorded
extensively. Currently, Todd plays in the indie rock band Sugarthief. He also
conducts the Greenwood Cello Ensemble and the Seattle Electric Bass Orchestra.
Todd received a bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory in 1991. His students
regularly placed in competitive ensembles including youth symphonies, have attended
the prestigious summer music camp Interlochen in Michigan, and have majored in
music at the college level.

Michael Selvidge
(Percussion) Lynnwood, Northgate
- 5 years as a private instructor, over 25 years as a professional player.
Mike Attended Coxs School of Music in Seattle. He has preformed and toured with national groups such as Merille Rush and Rodney Dangerfeild, as well as many
showcase bands of the Northwest such as Jonny Rusk, Johnny Lewis Trio, and The
Fleetwoods. In addition to performing with numerous Seattle R&B bands/dance/show
groups, Mike has substituted as a premier jazz/blues drummer throughout the Northwest,
and has studied under Cathy Ramm of the Seattle Symphony. Mike is currently drumming
for local band Groovemob and several blues bands including Roger Rogers, Two Scoop
Combo, and New Blues Brothers.
Dan Adams (Percussion)
Lynnwood - Over 30 years of teaching experience.
Earned BA at the University of Idaho and a Masters from the University of Washington.
He served 2 years as the District Music Supervisor for the Rainier School District
and has been a special percussion consultant to the Olympia School District. He
has worked as the Director of Percussion Studies at Seattle Pacific University since 1986. Dan has performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Civic Light Opera,
the Ashi Opera of Japan and many other groups. He has shared the stage with Johnny
Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Chakka Kahn, and Etta James just to name a few.

Tom Manley (Piano)
Lynnwood - Teaching since 1980. Tom pursued a
piano performance degree at Bringham Young University. He holds a piano recital
each year to showcase his students talents and regularly performs professionally
at weddings, parties, and the like. Aside from private instruction Tom played
piano at the Bellevue Square Nordstrom 13 years between 1986 and 1999.
Mark Hager
(Piano) Lynnwood -
7 years teaching private lessons and 10 years professional performance experiences.
A self-taught pianist until college, Mark eventually Majored in Jazz Studies and
Jazz Piano Performance at the University of Washington where he studied under
Professor Mark Seales. He specializes in jazz and improvisation as well as theory
and technique. He performs regularly with a variety of jazz, funk, reggae, and
rock groups and has appeared at such venues as The Fenix, The Ballard Firehouse,
The Tractor Tavern, the EMP and Jazz Alley. Recently, he has recorded with Little
Big Man and James Whiton. He currently plays with the Marc Hager Jazz Trio Quartet
and Groovemob.
Dr. Hangnyo Lee (Piano)
Lynnwood - 20 years teaching experience. Masters from the University
of Washington and Doctorate of Musical Arts awarded from The Juilliard School.
Hangnyo has been active in music education throughout Korea and the US. In Seoul
Korea she held many prestigious positions; working as the Professor of Music at
the Seoul City University, President of The Milburn Christian High School, and
serving as Dean at the Young-San Music Conservatory.

Sarah Richard (Voice)
Lynnwood - Sarah earned a Bachelors in Music
Education from Western Washington University and a Masters in Voice Pedagogy from
Texas Christian University. She currently works as a music teacher with the Edmonds
School District and runs her own private voice studio. She is a member of NATS
and serves as an adjudicator at local vocal competitions. In her free time, Sarah
works as a freelance, solo performer and musician.
