As an oboe and bassoon specialist, Paul has mastered his craft with over 35 years
of experience as a professional repair technician and musician. He graduated from
the University of Southern California with a Bachelor in Music on Bassoon and
ran a repair shop in California for several years. His work is trusted by many
of Washington's most accomplished musicians, whom repeatedly seek his expert services.
As a professional bassoonist, Paul performed for 10 years at Disneyland and also
worked as a studio musician in Hollywood. He has recently performed with the 5th
Ave Theater and regularly plays with the Cascade Symphony and The Uptown, Lowdown
Jazz Band; a touring Dixieland band.
John
Guyer - Woodwinds
Fifteen years with Kennelly
Keys Music
John has an extensive repair, teaching and performing history, and has been a
college professor. John has performed with Stan Kenton, Less Elgart, Warren Covington,
Buddy Morrow and The Ralph Flanagan orchestras and many others. Currently, he
plays with Roadside Attraction and Jazz Police big bands. John honed his skills
at woodwind instrument repair at his private repair facility but is now happy
to be back at Kennelly Keys doing woodwind repair with the great group of fellow
repair techs. John is a member of NAPBIRT.
John Mascorella
- Brass
Eleven years with Kennelly

John has refined his skills as a brass repairman, having worked as a professional
technician for nearly 40 years. He has worked on horns throughout the Pacific
Northwest and Alaska, earning his Journeyman Repair status in 1973. Over the years,
John ran his own repair shop and worked as a repair tech for Armstrong Music and
Music West. John's career as a professional trombonist has also been an impressive
one. He has worked and performed with such talented artists as The Temptations,
Bob Hope and the Andrews Sisters, Buddy Greco, Hal Linden, Harry Blackstone, Rich
Little, and the Lawrence Welk Singers.
Bob Merrihew - Woodwind, Brass
Eight years with Kennelly
Keys Music
Over the last 30 years, Bob has evolved into an expert repair technician with
a wealth of experience and knowledge. He graduated from Renton Technical College
in 1989 and became a member of the repair technicians association, NAPBIRT, soon
after. He quickly became an asset to repair companies such as Music West and Ted
Brown Music Co. and in 2000, he joined the Kennelly Keys Music repair shop as
a woodwind specialist. A professional drummer since 1975, Bob remains an active
musician and performer.
Jimmy Roberts - Guitar, Bass
Six years with Kennelly
Keys Music
After 30 years of repair experience, Jimmy's work is exemplary and consistently
of the highest quality. Jimmy specializes in acoustic and electric guitar repair
with an emphasis on vintage guitar restoration. His extensive repair knowledge
covers guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, autoharp, ukulele and many other string
instruments. His technical strengths include acoustic pick up installations, orchestral
string set-ups, fret dressing, and troubleshooting electronic problems. As a professional
guitarist Jimmy plays and performs with his Christian rock band, Broken Chains.
Michael Marcus - Stringed Instruments
Four years with Kennelly

Bassist Michael Marcus began his professional career in 1978 as a performing musician and string repair technician. He graduated from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston in 1990, where he studied with Bassists Dave Holland and Miroslav Vitous. Michael has performed music in over 20 countries. He has studied the entire string family and enjoys the challenge of bringing new life to old instruments. He has worked as a string repair tech for Kennelly Keys Music since 2005.
Matt Williams - Stringed Instruments
Ten years with Kennelly
Keys Music
Matt started with Kennelly Keys in March 1999 repairing violins, violas, cellos and upright basses. As a life-long musician Matt has played the trumpet, tuba, guitar, piano and electric bass. In 2007 Matt received a Bachelor of Science from Central Washington University. Matt is a valued member of our Stringed Instrument Repair Dept.
