Used Yamaha SV-100K Silent Violin 4/4 Electric Violin.  Includes Case, Bow, and Shoulder Rest.  The Silent series works both with headphones or plugged into an amp, making practice or performance a breeze.  Item is missing a screw where the frame attaches to the body.

By removing the sound box and leaving only the frame, the feel of playing an acoustic violin was preserved while achieving a dramatically quiet sound level, winning great favor from violin enthusiasts concerned about their practice environment.

Yamaha first introduced the SV-100 SILENT Violin to America in 1997. Since then, an entire line of SILENT and electric string instruments have become a staple of orchestra classrooms, rehearsal rooms, performance venues and everything in-between. The SV-100 was initially developed in response to the needs of string musicians in Tokyo, Hamamatsu and other large Japanese cities, where a quiet practice violin was desirable so that students and performers could rehearse and play in the tightly arranged living spaces commonly found there.

The SV-100 was a hit among Japanese violinists, but many American string players, while still appreciating the silent feature, opted to plug the instrument into amplifiers to see how loud they could make it!

The Yamaha SILENT Violin provides a wide variety of sound control options on the instrument itself, from just having a flat, unprocessed sound to the use of built-in reverb — making it seem as if you are playing in a big concert hall. In addition, the output of the SILENT Violin pickup is extremely strong, so it can easily lend itself to the use of effects like distortion or delay, giving you the ability to augment your sound with external processors and effects.
