Vintage 1980 Electro-Harmonix Crash Pad Analog Drum Synth.  Modified to use 24v Wall Wart Plug instead of an attached 2-Prong Cable.  Very rare pedal from a series of drum synths designed to work with the EHX Clockworks Rhythm Generator/Synthesizer.

EHX’s rich history was marked by many revolutionary pedals but one of our most distinctive lines was a group of analog drum synthesizers that included the Crash Pad.  Release in 1980, the EHX Crash Pad Electric Crash Drum can create an array of drum sounds and other-worldly oscillation sweeps, as well as process external sounds thru its resonant filter.

The Crash Pad works by creating a "swooping" sound. Think of it like a slide whistle made of white noise. By turning specific knobs, you control how the sound starts, changes, and fades out.
Decay: Controls how long the sound takes to fade out after being triggered.
Resonance: Changes the "Q" or harshness of the filter, allowing for sharper, more ringing percussive tones.
Start/Stop: Sets the beginning and ending frequencies of the pitch sweep.
Time: Determines how long the pitch sweep takes to travel from the start frequency to the stop frequency.

Creates a range of percussive sounds from cymbals, snares and hi hats to oscillation sweeps
Triggers via the on-board pushbutton, an external (non-MIDI) drum pad and most clock generators
Process external sounds thru the resonant filter
Rugged, die-cast chassis
Works great with the EHX Clockworks Rhythm Generator/Synthesizer and other similar devices
