Ms. Lamont holds a BA in Music Performance from Southern Oregon University and a Music Education degree from the University of Oregon after which she pursued long-term Suzuki training from John Kendall at the Suzuki Institute at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
She has taught private violin and viola for more than 30 years. She remains an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and the Suzuki Association of Washington State (SAWS).
Ms. Lamont currently performs with the Skagit Symphony in Mount Vernon and with Orchestra Seattle and Seattle Chamber Singers in Seattle. She previously has performed in Anchorage symphony, opera, and ballet orchestras, with orchestras in Portland, OR, and Seattle Phil and Philharmonic Northwest in the Seattle area.
In addition to teaching privately, she taught five years at the Community Music Center in Portland, Oregon; and 14 years at Music Center of the Northwest in Seattle, where she also acted as Program Coordinator for Suzuki teachings.
