Teresa began teaching violin as a high school student and has taught ages 4 to 50. As a home schooling mother of 7 children, she believes in teaching to individual learning styles. Teresa has a deep passion for music, which she longs to foster in others. She began studying music at the age of 8 and went on to play with Seattle Junior Symphony and Portland Youth Philharmonic.
As a young adult, Teresa spent time in Germany, performing with a local group in a medieval church and studying at the University of Hamburg. Upon returning to the US, she earned a BA in Music Performance from Linfield College. Along with teaching, she is currently a freelance musician performing with groups such as Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Everett Philharmonic Orchestra, Skagit Opera, her quartet and at local churches.
Teresa believes that whether you go on to play professionally or just for the pure enjoyment of it, playing a stringed instrument will enrich your life and grow you brain!
